DVD Ripping software

Since this is a non official, non YS question, I must post it here. lol

I have been ripping some of my dvds and converting them to the ipod touch format but the audio gets off sometimes. So the question:

What is a good software program to rip dvds with that does a good job? Thanks

rather ashamed to answer that i have never ripped any dvd's so i have no clue lol. Tiger is a man about technology he may know Slohand

I haven't done this in the last year or so, but... I used Roxio Digital Suite? I think it's called. And a few other choice programs... I don't have the full list with me on my laptop, my PC is currently undergoing surgery, so I can't tell you for sure.... I'll look up the software next time I see the DVD I have all that software saved on.

Did you have a surge protector on your system?

Aye.
The shot came through the phone lines, into my dsl modem, out of the lan cable and into the pc. My insurance should cover it. It also took out my dish network dish LNB, went through the cable to a switch behind my reciever. Didn't get to my tv and only ruined the modem on my dish reciever. Fried the LNB tho, burnt to hell, looks like I took a welder to parts of it. Also took out my phone, tripped 2 breakers, and 1 outlet had to be reset. Big big big boom but no damage or anything to the house or outside electrical box... strange.

I had something similiar happen to me once, i had my pc etc on a surge relief but lightening struck the cable company somewhere and it came in through my cable into the cable modem, melting it into a lump of plastic and then down to my ethernet card frying it and stopping there. cable company brought me a new box, i bought a new ethernet card and then i upgraded my surge protection to a $150 device that protects electric, cable, DSL, phone lines, or satelite cables. never a problem since and it has worked on several occasions too..
