Laughter,

That error usually means your A, not connected correctly, or B, the username/password is incorrect.

Since YS Online App launches before it even connects to the server, so the error is pretty general. Make sure you setup the IP correctly and the username and password is correct. Maybe PM Slo to verify the info. Of if I see him I'll have him resend it just to be on the safe side.

Moved to the correct forum/thread :

Does anyone know how to get the client to use a proxy server to access the internet? I've gone to the Java control panel and changed my network settings, but my firewall tells me it's still trying to directly connect to 206.225.93.51. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'd love to get on Friday.

I'm running XP Media Center Edition
I connect to the internet via a HTTP Proxy, port 8080

The issue has to do with the open ports of your firewall or company proxy. You can use a port forwarder to get out though a certain port, usually 8080, ie, takes the request from the java application and pushes it out port 8080, the problem is whether the server can communicate with you on this port, or is requiring another port such as 443 or 1011, if so, then you would need a forwarder on the otherside of your firewall or proxy as well. Careful with this at work, companies don't like people running port forwarders.

Well I'm not at work, I'm in Iraq. The locals give us internet and we access it via HTTP proxy. Most programs work fine if I can get them to go through the correct ip/port. I just go to proxy settings and type my info in. The problem here is that when I type the yserbius command line in, it looks for that ip directly. I need it to go through my proxy first. I can tell it's going to the ip directly because my firewall will say 'Yserbius is trying to connect to [yserbius address]' when it should say it's trying to connect to proxy:8080. I hope this makes sense... I'm going to uninstall Java and reinstall the new version and set up the proxy settings again and hope it works.

Yeaaaah.... I'm stumped on that one.... First thing that comes to mind, is you'd probably have to setup some kinda port forwarding.... I don't mess with Proxy's so, I'm at a loss.... Anyone else?

Well the bad news is, I never got my proxy issue resolved... the GOOD news, however, is that we got the Iraqi's who set up our internet to get rid of the proxy ;] I logged in today for the first time. ;]
