Downloaded TSOY and FOT and am running them on DosBOX 0.63... and I'm getting the audio cues, but no music.

Anyone remember how to get music working?

Xensoft

I guess Xensoft is offline with router problems again. Seems like i remember something about the Audio on his site. Remember though this game was around before external sound so check to be sure your internal speaker volume is turned on and up. Slo

Right, but I *swore* I've gotten sound to run before... I am getting audio from the game (the double beep when you level up, etc), but just no bloody music, heh. ;p

I know for a fact there was music on FoT... In the twinion.doc that comes with the game, it says you'll get music if you have a SB card installed (which DosBOX expertly emulates...)

Yeah Slo, Yserb had music back then

I never tried to get the music to work. To be honest with ya's, I rather listen to my CD's or radio then Yserb's :)

Xenther does have a guide on his site to get the music to work with XP.

I'm thinking this has to to with sound card emulation in what the Windows world calls "real mode". Of course, if it's not real to Microsoft, it just doesn't exist... but I digress.

Anyway, try the little nasty called SoundFX 2000 (ready for the new millennium!!) at http://www.softsystem.co.uk/page4.html

The demo version has a three-minute time limit, so do your finger-ninja exercises before beginning. If it works for you, I might know some down-on-his-luck Serbian hacker who will sell you his 100% legally licensed copy.

Interesting you would ask.

The rate of Serbian Ninja population decline has been tied directly to the shrinking numbers of their ecosystem counterparts, the Samoan Pirates. Pirates versus Ninjas used to be one of the driving dynamics of human evolution. Now that the Pirates have all gone to the hotel trade and offshore casino servers and whatnot, the Ninjas have no natural prey.

Most pretending to be Serbian Ninjas are, in fact, help desk technicians from Des Plaines, IL, and of generally questionable Slavic descent.

Samoan Pirates!

Oh! Oh! Ohhhhh! LOVE THAT!

Samoan Pirates, that might be the new password.

I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

Thank you, thank you for the history lesson...the world makes sense now...yes....Samoan pirates...

There is one music file I'd love to hear again... I forget what map but think it's the LoG map or one nearby. Don't even remember how the song went but recall loving it.

I spent alot of time in the water.. ya know.

I always loved the thrashy sound of death darts.

But alas, only thing I ever hear is my PC speaker beeping when I get a level. :p~

Music indeed!

Oh yeah there was music on Yserbius. There was a few tracks I loved when you got deeper into the cano. I'll try out your link Slohand and let you know if it works! :D

It Works!

It works! Both sound and Music and I'm running Windows XP.

Ok I downloaded VDMSound and installed it on my computer. I tried to run Yserbius using VDMS without making the LSCI.cfg file but no sound or music still. So I reconfigured my directories to make a parent directory similar to your setup Slohand of C:/program files/INN and placed Yserbius into this directory. I created the LSCI.cfg file in the C:/program files/INN using notepad. Ran the Yserbius.exe file using VDMS and boom! I had sound and music! Works great too! Thanks bro!

P.S. I haven't tried Twinoin yet. But the results should be the same for it as well. 8)

Geesh! 1 Gig of Memory isn't enough?!

Ok, I tried Twinion and I get music at the start up screen when I use the Run with VDMS. However when I select my character and log into the mountain screen it tells me "Not enough memory, not loading music or sound" Any suggestions on this guys? Thanks
