Enjoying the first movie immensely, I feel this review may be a bit bias in its view.
The movie starts off much like any good novel. There's a catcher opening, where Jack breaks out of a prison, like only Jack could. Then, a problem involving the hero's of the first movie is presented in which Will must find Jack and take his magic compass back to the new wanabe governor of Port Royle. Well, some pirate treachery and sword fighting later (Did I mention native, cannibal tribes?) later, and all hell breaks loose.
The movie was fast paced and kept you in anticipation of what's going to come out of the depths next. The line between good and bad pirates is blurred and all I gotta say is... JACK SPARROW!!!! Hehehe... You'll get it, if ya go see it. I really can't say I didn't enjoy any aspect of the movie. There were a few special effects that caught me saying, "Ew... That is bad special effects." Then I noticed the credits for special effects and thought, "God, I hope ILM didn't do that part."
Speaking of Credits, it was reported there was a special clip at the end of the movie. After waiting, what.. 10, 15 mins for the credits to finish we were disappointed by the clip. Especially after the killer hanger whichthe movie presented. (Which, now that I think about it. WHY did they return to the Voodoo lady? Eh...) Anyway, the clip at the end of the movie. No spoiler here, so read on. If you see the movie, just fill in Jack with Dog during the movie and you'll be golden... Savvy?
