Multi-WoW Install

I'm sure it's very annoying reinstalling and installing WoW over and over again. Instead of that, there is a way of having multiple installations while having them both work at the same time. The goal basically is to keep the Moved WoW Folder as the Legit one

First, Go to (note to find this to a search for regedit)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft

*Make a backup if you want (export it)

*Then delete that registry.

*Move your Legit WoW, to a folder outside of it’s default location. (Like C:\Wow Hold)

*Then you can install another WoW (This copy will be your new legit Copy, unless your old Legit copy is over Version 2.0.12)

Second, once you have the other WoW installed you will need to update it by finding the patches, you should be able to find them by a Google search. I use http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/patches/worldofwarcraft/patch.html. This is better then relying on WoW to update the patches correctly or accidentally patching above the version our servers will be supporting. Update your new WoW to the current server version. (2.0.12)

Once this has been done go to your C: drive where you installed the new WoW, in there should be another file called realmlist.wtf, open it using notepad change the server to the server you will need to connect to leaving set realmlist save this file. (Note: you may need to do the same thing with the real wow that is located in program files, however, this tutorial should bypass that).

Now, the boring part…. Move the New WoW install to another folder outside of the default WoW installation location. Name it something like OffWoW or something. Then, move the Legit WoW back to the default installation directory.

After you complete this do not use the launcher to launch WoW anymore if you do make sure that you close everything before starting wow or warden will get you. To get around the Launcher, head to the New Wow, (do this for Legit WoW and OffWoW) and make a shortcut for the wow.exe file on your desktop, make sure you name the OffWoW shortcut something you know will take you to the OffWoW server.

Sign in with your new account name and password you should have gotten from your server admin.

Have Fun!
