Ok guys, I’m going to post this here to help assist you and me with the Newsletter requirements for each department, as I call it.
Front Page Articles
Word Max: 300 (Unless a picture is provided then it’s about 250 words)
Word Minimum: 250
I need the entire article, including any screenshots and pictures relevant to the article. Please make it interesting. It is the first article readers see, so we have to grab their attention. Just like any good book, we want to keep the reader reading. If you want to write anonymously, or want to write yourself as saying something, then pretend you’re The Scribe, that’s what he’s for.
YSUO Articles
Word Max: 360.
Word Minimum: 290
Again, this should be interesting and informative. We want people to keep playing and coming back. Quest idea’s should be presented, personal stories are ok, but please make sure you have permission from other travelers before you use their name.
FAQ’s
Word Max: Aprox 200
Word Minimum: Aprox 150
We need FAQ’s on a monthly bases. If you travel through the forums and see some questions that are really good, and we should point out to everyone, PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF IT. This is prolly the hardest section within the newsletter to keep fresh.
Last Word
Word Max: Depends
Word Minimum: Depends
If it’s an interview with someone, the length of the interview can very, please email me with questions on that. If it’s a Final Word topic, where you think an detailed explanation needs to be given by Dev or the Admins, please make a note of it and send it to me.

Have a contest idea? Want to throw a party, give away some prizes or whatnot? Then come up with a detailed plan, funds to pay for any prizes, and let me know.

I’ve been using my Tx2 files for this recently, mostly because Navic’s been slackin off. If you have heard from an old guild lately, and you want to spotlight them, their history, achievements, and where they are now, then write something up. Pictures are welcome.

Currently there are two columns within the newsletter that we use to put Misc stuff. If you want some creative license for a story, or something, then please feel free to write it up and send it in. Keep it to about 300 words or less, and screenshots are cool.

If you have an advertisement idea that would help generate revenue for Ys.org, then please email ysdev@tigereyegfx.net with your ideas, screen shots, statistics, ect. We’ll see what we can do about it and implement it if applicable.
