<Dapper Dan peeks over the stone wall. Why couldn't this place have been a nice pub instead of some demon tomb? Dap inspects his rag clothing. Well ol'boy atleast you didn't dress up for this. Dan hops the wall and crosses the courtyard looking for evidence of recent traffic. He reaches the others> So chaps, who brought the light source?
In the flickering light of Jack's torch you see a short set of stairs leading down into a rectangular room. A statue of a snake rearing back to strike gives you pause...until you realize it PROBABLY won't animate and devour you all.
The statue has an emerald eye and one empty eye-socket.
There is a set of bronze double doors on the opposite wall and a spiral staircase going down in one corner.
Carvings of demons torturing the damned are on the walls.

<Cautiously walks down the steps to the statue and examines in carefull, looking for anything odd or out of place as well as words or inscribtions>
Lovely place.... Maybe with some throw rugs, a few fire pits... This place could be homey... Jaq, see if there's scones on the walls to light....
If not, could you take Raisa and look for inscriptions or anything... She might be able to read anything that has to do with demons.... If this is a temple anyway...

<continuing along the wall I come to a door set slightly into the wall. Running my hands over the wall I find it to be smooth and cold, a slight vibration seems to tingle through my hands, causing my nerves to once again hum with uneasieness>That is strange.... nothing but smooth. Nothing. <My hand suddenly slips into a small almost hidden indentation. Feeling more I realize that it is round, and about an inch deep>Guys... look at this. Any ideas?
*stumbling down the steps leading in to the vine covered building, she gave up the fascinating view of the jungle canopy and all the mysteries it might hold. The light was dim, and she heard "No sconces". Time to use the powers of observation honed to a fine pitch during her time as the leader and sole member of H.O.T. - Help Owls Triumph. She wondered where Birdwyser was. Oh why not...
"HOOT! HOOT! HOOT!", she paused, listening. Nothun'.
Her observational powers kicked in. "OH WOOD SPRITES, ITS A ONE EYED SNAKE!" Its one beady green eye glowed at her even in the dimness. Tiger had his hand in its mouth. Weird. She walked slowly around the statue.
"This is definately a Red Mamba. Obviously the builders of this temple were short on intelligence and big on hissing. I'm going to suggest you step off to the side if you decide to pull that hinged jaw down, Tiger. Whatever false breath this beast holds isn't going to be pleasant."
Deciding that she'd had quite enough staring in to the eye of a one eyed snake she moved off to see what Raisa was looking at. Leering demons cavorted across the walls she passed. Of course it could have been family portraits. She really wasn't in a position to judge the nature of the island's inhabitants and architects.

Look what we have here... the jaw does appear to open. Looks like some chap attempted to open it with a bladed weapon.
<Climbs up the mamba to closer inspect the eye socket, then to the jewel.>
I can see my reflection in it... <Dap's body jeeks almost losing grip on the statue>
OH BLOODY'LL! <Looks down to Jaq>

Hey slick, I don't think either you climbing on its head, or taking the other emerald is a wise idea. And as Lady China pointed out, I really don't want to see it breath... Period.

<Chuckles at Marissa>"You are quite correct there.... and you did notice that they made the "rod" joke... totally ignoring the fact that I said the hole was "Small", "Round", and "Shallow"..... but then again I guess that is male measurements compared to female measurements....
