* A lone rider, a stride a pale horse, rides up the trail that ends at the front door of the Sword Swamp Tavern. The man know as Arboc dismounts and speaks out * "Cyren!!! Oh Cyren. Please come out. I must speak with you."

Cyren steps out of the tavern, carrying a washrag she's using to wipe her hands and then slings over her shoulder.

She doesn't ask why she has to come outside, just smiles.

"I don't have to let down my golden hair or anything, do I?"

She winks.

"It's good to see you, Arboc, how can I help you?"

Smiling Arboc says, "Nothing so formal is required of you today." Extending his hand, he presents Cyren a boquet of flowers. "These are the last of the wild flowers. Autuman is coming and nature is putting it's colors away for long well deserved sleep."

Cyren smiles and takes the bouquet and takes a deep breath of wildflower scent.

She sinks into a curtsey and smiles in appreciation.

"Arboc, you are a gentleman. Thank you for thinking of me and bringing some beauty into my life. I'll weave them into a wreath to remember your kindness."

"Well I thank you for the kind words dear lady. Just showing that I let by gones be by gones." Arboc gently strokes Cyren's cheek. " I do have other reasons for my visit. Do down to business. First please be so kind to inform LadyChina I would like to request the presence of her company tomorrow. I would like to conclude the business proposition she put forth to me the other evening. Tell her to meet me at ruins located next to the river 5 miles south of Misty Hollow when the sun is directly above. If she can't attend, please tell her send word to me. Will you do this for me?" Arboc smiles at Cyren with his soft brown eyes.

Cyren smiles at Arboc and salutes him with her flowers, and says "I'll pass the message along. Thank you again, bygones being bygones, I must be gone. Seems men need women to do everything for 'em around here."

She winks and waves and goes back inside the tavern, slipping behind the bar to get Navic an ale before writing a note to Lady China informing her of Arboc's request, verbatim.

She weaves the flowers into a wreath and places the wreath where she can see it. She goes back to the bar and leans over the book she was reading. "Vodka...I'm going to have to seriously set up a distillery." She looks to the door to the basement and thinks.

"Maybe tomorrow. Navic, are you hungry? Want something to eat? I'm cooking."

<sets his empty mug down, gulp... Looks at Cyren, looks at the basement door, looks at Cyren...> Are ya bribing me with food?
 You know my weakness... if it's a distillery you want, it's a distillery you'll get! But before I can help ya out I have some work to do over in Dragon Court... seems our friend Tater's setting up shop there... something 'bout a disco? Reck'n what a disco is...? :)

Cyren laughs and thwaps Navic with a towel on one of his heavily armored bits.

"Don't worry about the distillery, I'll do it myself, just not tonight. I'm glad Tater is staying. We can surely head over there now if you'd like to see what's happening. It will save me the cooking and having to beat sense into people with more armor than manners. Shall we?"

Cyren looks at Navic deadpan and says "I hope a disco has sharp edges and can be wielded by a short, but determined woman."

She winks.

"Let's go!"

Arboc kisses Cyren’s hand gently. He then mounts his horse and prepares to ride off. “Oh one more thing milady. Your tenant Dewm? His presence is required at Misty Hollow ASAP. Seems he left a mess that requires to be cleaned. Little Dewy broke into my room, stuck me with his axe, vomited on my bedding, and then left his blood and dirt all over the floors of the tavern. Now don’t you think that shows a certain amount of disrespect for my personal being and space? Shouldn’t even a chaotic being be held to the same standards as any other person in Yseribus?”

*lifting her chin as high as possible, she craned her neck from side to side, wondering when the marks of poor impulse control would fade. A dream of rare intensity had been the gift of her lack of control. Apparently the zap of the collar, or the bang of the floor hitting her head, (or was it her head hitting the floor), had cracked a sealed door and let the colors slide in.

...she was a young girl, dressed all in red. A forest so lush with life that it was almost as dark as death must be surrounded her. She was so thirsty. She used her her sense of hearing to listen for the sound of water. She used her sense of sight to see an opening in the wood where water might flow. She tried to taste the air for the hint of algae and water washed sand. She breathed deeply to smell a telltale hint of wet. Nothing. Finally she fell to the ground and reached a hand out and there was the stream she sought. Rushing over her fingertips, up her arm, she gasped and rose to her knees. She'd been under the water, she didn't know how long. She was in the stream, immersed in its tingling coolness. Cupping her hands she drank deeply, stumbled out and up to the bank. Eyes glowed at her from the shadows...

And then she'd awoken with her head in Cyren's lap who's smile was taking in a usually fearsome Lady laid low, literally. Ah well...

*A note was laying on the floor just inside her room, shoved under her door while she slept the sleep of the recently zapped. She read it, taking in details of place and time. Wondering if there were any of hers in the ruins.

"Its a funny place to do business. Two by two they came... Evil Way an Eden. Water to flow through its stoney hardness. Thats all I need to remember. I have got one hell of a headache..."

*the bed called, she answered*

Cyren smiles at Arboc on her way to Dragon Court with Navic.

She stops to speak with him, wrapping a shawl around herself against the chill of the evening, listening to Arboc's concerns.

She laughs and says "Arboc, although the flowers and the horse, and meeting me outside may seem masterful or, I don't know, some kind of ideal, this is one of the worst attempts at manipulation I've yet to see and frankly it has so little subtlety that I'm just insulted. Perhaps if you looked "respect" up in the dictionary. If you wish to attempt to talk TO me, rather than simply tell me what to do from a calculated elevation, then perhaps I can tell you how I feel about it. I don't mind being manipulated so much by people who can do it well, then it can be fun. This? Not fun. If you can write, write your own letters. If you need help learning how to do so, then surely, I can help you along there."

"I'm too busy taking orders from people who are busy giving them to have a spare moment for such lofty concerns as harmony and evil. I'm merely a tavern wench, to be called out and ordered at everyone's whim. I'm sure I couldn't possibly have any power or influence over events. My weak, womanly brains must melt out my toes from a big, strong man on a horse bringing flowers."

She sinks into a deeper curtsey than the one she'd sunk into earlier, with just as much ease and grace, indicating that the thoughts that went on inside her head might have been different from her outer display the first time around as well.

"The first curtsey was out of good manners. The second was out of an interest in mocking you. Who knows what the third will bring?"

She smiles lightly and says "IF, however, I had a brain of sorts, perhaps I would ask you...what is it that makes Lady China want your company that repels you from mine?"

She waves lightly and runs forward to catch up with Navic.

"Hey Dewy, if you want to defecate all over the floors of Sword Swamp, be my guest." Arboc turns his horse away from the tavern entrance, and rides off.
