Remaking Yserbius Split Thread!!

What's the topic here? Oh yeah, it sure slowed down a bit! Then the next thing you know, you have the most viewed and replied to Topic! Whyz that, cuz someone said "Lets remake Yserbius". The results of the latest poll show interest (I voted to remake Pong, ya bums). Something has to be done!
If we can't get any help/info from ex-INN/TSN employes then what?
How far along is Xenther? Does he want help from others? Is his going to be pay 2 play when/if released? Then what?
If all else fails, lets start from scratch, us, the folks of Yserbius.org. We do the work, for nothing and make it free to play. Copyright infrigments, I don't know? I do know this will be ALOT of work and will take dedication.

I don't know the code side of things, but surely if somone has the old TSN disks, then Yserbius user interface can be yonked from it.... As for legal stuff, well... It should no longer be a trade mark, since I doubt either AOL or Sierra excersized their right to extend the trade mark on the game... Copy protection however is still a problem, but even this has ways around.. For example, IF we get the old Yserbius up and running, then we can't charge people to play it... We could, ask for donations... Loop holes are cool things... Still, we need somone with enough h4x0r ability to do the back end stuff....

Are you guys aware of AGD Interactive? They remade Kings Quest 1 and 2 with VGA graphics and upgraded sound. If VU games (the rights holder to just about every Sierra game released) didn't send them a cease and desist, I don't see how VU or AOL or whoever currently holds INN rights would do the same. It's very old abandonware. A lot of Abandonware games are available on various nostalgia websites.

Gathering the gameinfo by playing it and recording stuff isn't hard at all. Time consuming yeah, but not hard, I've been doing it (I'm so good at it I don't have to put down my beer ). I feel sorry for the programmers. Here's the dilly(?), all the info has to be available to everyone. So even if we don't finish it others could pick it up and keep it going. Many have tried and many have failed, lets not let that happen.

I don't think collecting in game info is the hard part, or the part thats keeping it from happening... It's the fact that no one here, has yet to agree to hack the old copy and turn it into an interface/client for us to use... In game stuff should already be taken care of...
